Your feedback helps other South African businesses find accounting support they can trust.

Yavele taught me that a tax refund doesn't mean SARS got everything right. A refund can give you false comfort, but you need qualified professionals to verify your return before accepting what SARS tells you. Their expertise made all the difference, and I'd recommend them to anyone who wants their tax affairs done properly.

I run an accounting business and rely on Mdu at Yavele Consulting for my clients' tax work, both individual and business. His work is thorough and technically sound, and he takes time to analyse the tax implications of clients' plans before decisions are made, rather than just filing returns after the fact. He's responsive, deadlines are met, and clients come away with clarity on where they stand with SARS.

Common questions

Frequently askedquestions

When is the 2026 tax return deadline?

Non-provisional taxpayers must file by 23 October 2026. Provisional taxpayers and trusts have until 22 January 2027. Filing opened on 13 July 2026, after the auto-assessment period from 1 to 12 July.

SARS auto-assessed me. Do I still need to do anything?

Check the assessment carefully. SARS only uses the information it has, so missing medical expenses, retirement annuity contributions or extra income can mean you are owed more, or that you will be audited later. You can accept it, or file a corrected return.

Do I have to submit a tax return?

Many people do, including anyone with income from more than one employer, rental, business or foreign income, or income above the filing threshold. If you're unsure, ask us; it takes a few minutes to check.

What do you need from me?

Usually your IRP5, medical aid and retirement annuity certificates, investment income certificates and details of any other income or expenses. We send you a list tailored to your situation.
